This is an all-terrain detector offering exclusive Garrett technology that makes it ideal for hunting coins, relics, caches, jewelry, and even gold nuggets. Select from either Standard or Professional search modes with enhanced audio features.
It operates at 15 khz and has a lot of gain for extreme sensitivity to small low conductive target such as lead, brass and gold nuggets. It come with a new coil Garrett has designed and is exclusive only on Garrett detectors. It is an 11"x 8.5" DD coil with blunted tip and tail. This new blunted ends on the coil make it equal to the depth of a 12"-13" concentric coil, which is unheard of in a DD coil.
It is very light weight at 3.03 lbs and runs on 4 AA batteries. Times have sure changed. Just 10-12 years ago most Garrett machine ran on 8 AA batteries which added weight to the detector. Now with modern technology Garrett has squeezed all that power and gain from just 4 AA batteries. Their new AT Gold metal detector has the same weight and batteries and is housed also in the AT water proof (to 10 feet) control housing!

"A good unit. Search the web and you'll find people saying good things about the AT Pro. You can find some air test comparisons on Youtube, of the AT Pro doing well. This unit is going to have better performance than the Whites MXT but time will tell. The key feature of this unit is waterproof to 10'. If you want a waterproof detector that has built in display with pinpoint all metal mode, you'd have to pay $1,100 for a Fisher CZ-21. If you live near water, then this is the unit for you. I bought this unit for wading waist deep while looking for coins and jewelry which this is geared for gold and relics. AT stands for All Terrain, and is the all-around perfect metal detector for all range of terrains.'
